CHILD SAFETY STATEMENT

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Carers,
The spring rains are upon us and hopefully we get some patches of sunshine as well. Please be mindful of the flooding at the front of the school. Once again I am appealing to the council to come up with a solution.
Thank you to those parents who have organised a school hat for their students. Our SunSmart policy states that hats are to be worn from September 1st to mid April. After a weeks grace, any student not wearing a hat during play breaks will be restricted to the undercover area.
What a fun night we had last Friday night at the Trivia Night! Thank you to everyone who came along and to all of the generous sponsors for supporting the fundraising efforts of the school.
Congratulations to our 8 students who made their First Eucharist last Sunday. We look forward to supporting their growth in faith.
The 3/4 students and staff had a wonderful camp in Warrnambool. They participated in a range of activities from fishing to beach exploration and outdoor challenges. Thank you to the staff who accompanied them and brought them home safely. Next week our 5/6 group go off to Cave Hill Creek near Beaufort.
Happy Father's Day to all of our Dads! I hope your day is blessed with family time and laughter. We look forward to seeing you all at the Father's Day Breakfast tomorrow morning.

JUNIOR CLASSES GET CREATIVE!
Junior Classes Get Creative with the Hamilton Gallery
On Wednesday, our junior classes enjoyed a wonderful art incursion with the Hamilton Gallery. Students were introduced to a special printing technique using jelly plates. They experimented with different textures and designs, creating colourful prints on paper.
Once they had mastered the technique, students had the exciting opportunity to design and print their very own artwork onto a tote bag.
It was a hands-on, engaging session that allowed students to explore new art-making skills and take home a lasting reminder of their work. A big thank you to the Hamilton Gallery team for bringing this inspiring experience to our school.

FOOTY COLOURS & SUSTAINABILITY DAY

ASTHMA WEEK

This Asthma Week Asthma Australia is asking parents to help flip the script and Attack Asthma for their child. It’s time we Attack Asthma before the symptoms start!
Asthma is one of the leading causes of children ending up in hospital. New research by Asthma Australia shows that while most parents feel like they are confident in managing their child’s asthma, nearly two thirds live in constant fear of an asthma attack.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
A daily preventer can help keep your child's asthma under control, reducing the chance of an attack. This means less time feeling sick or in the hospital and more time for them to just be a kid. Instead of waiting for symptoms like wheezing or difficulty breathing, use a preventer every day to help your child breathe normally.
Learn more about how to Attack Asthma here: www.asthma.org.au/attack
Celebrating Father's Day

SCHOOL HATS - FROM MONDAY SEPT 1
