CHILD SAFETY STATEMENT

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a fabulously entertaining night we had at last Friday's Trivia night.  Congratulations to Sarah McCorkell for once again securing such amazing donations for our raffle and auction.  A huge thank you to Dustin McCorkell and Liam Murphy for their challenging questions and for keeping us laughing throughout the night. Best performance yet guys! Thanks go to Ben Archbold for scoring the rounds and to the support team, Abby Lee, Bree Porter and Lucy Lehne, for all their work to promote the event and set up the night. We had a great clean-up crew; many hands made the work quicker and lighter. Congratulations to the raffle winners and thank you to the winning auction bidders.  Above all, thank you to everyone who came along to make it such a success. The night raised over $11,000.00.

Book week dress-up is this Friday with a parade in the hall at 9.00am so that parents can attend after drop off and before the costumes start to show wear and tear.

We are inviting parents to come into classroom next Wednesday, August 28 to learn about how we teach reading in a Structured Literacy Classroom.  See more details in the article below.

Olga Lyons

CONDOLENCES

We send our condolences to Michelle, Shaun, Harper and Charlie Malone on the passing of Michelle's grandmother and to Olga Lyons on passing of her uncle. Please keep them in your prayers.

FROM THE RE LEADER - ELIZA DWYER

PARENT ENGAGEMENT SESSION - READING

We are inviting parents to come into F-6 classrooms on Wednesday August 28 from 9.00am - 10.00am to view and learn about the Structured Literacy Program.

"Parent involvement in a child's education is consistently found to be positively associated with a child's academic performance."

Come and learn with your child and gain a first hand understanding of how we teach reading in a Structured Literacy classroom.  Please SeeSaw your teacher/s if you will be attending.

TRIVIA NIGHT - THANK YOU!!

Thanks to all who came along to the trivia night, Dusty and I had a great time, so great in fact that we completely forgot to let you know the answers to rounds 4 and 5. So for those of you still wondering about the full names of the spice girls or how many steel plates are on the bridge, here you go.  Cheers, Liam.

CARING FOR OUR COMMON HOME - WE NEED YOUR HELP!

SOCIAL INNOVATORS - DONATIONS!

SCHOOL HATS TO BE WORN STARTING MONDAY SEPTEMBER 2

As per our Sun Smart Policy, students & staff are required to wear a school hat from September to the end of April.

Hats are to be worn from, Monday 2nd September.

BOOKWEEK - AUGUST 19 -23

Book Week is coming up in Week 6 (August 19th - 23rd) and will culminate in our Book Week dress up day on Friday August 23rd.

The theme for Book Week this year is 'Reading is Magic' and whilst not compulsory, we do encourage students to dress up in a book character or one that matches the theme.

The costumes do not need to be elaborate and being creative is encouraged - no need to buy anything new for the occasion. The point of the week is to celebrate reading and encourage reading more often and students will participate in activities throughout the week to support this.

175 SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY

Do you have any St Pat's memorabilia that you could loan the school?

If you do please drop them into the school office. Photos will be scanned and the originals given back to you.

🎉✨ St Patrick's Primary School is celebrating 175 years!

We're hosting a special anniversary event to mark this significant milestone - join us for a trip down memory lane!

Whether you're a past student, teacher or a first-time visitor, this event is open to everyone. All tickets are free and program details are provided at the link below. Come along to all or as many of the sessions as you like. 🎈🙂

Please RSVP and grab your FREE tickets at: https://spportfairy175.eventbrite.com.au
